Q: We’re buying a dining room chandelier. Any tips? What’s the right height to hang it?

It should hang somewhere between 30- to 36-inches above the height of the table. Keep in mind the scale of your furniture when scoping out a light—a “heavy” dining set will require a “weightier”-looking light, and size-wise, you don’t want one larger than half the table width. Select one that will make a great focal point, and don’t forget to add a dimmer switch for instant atmosphere!
