Q: Most of our furniture is contemporary to modern and very clean-lined, but we just inherited a giant antique armoire from my parents’ farmhouse. It is so different from the rest of our stuff and also much bigger, but we do like it. How do we make it work?

It sounds like a very interesting piece to mix into your place! To ensure that the scale of the armoire doesn’t dwarf the furniture, balance out its size with something else that is equally grand—think full-height curtains or a very large piece of art in the room.
