Q: What do you think of fashion knock-offs: Good or bad?

Lara says...
I’m at a crossroads with this one: On the one hand, I absolutely understand how much work goes into making genuine luxury goods (an authentic Hermès bag can take one year to create), and as such I think that buying a knock-off in some New York city alleyway isn’t cool. But on the flip side, we’re continually bombarded with the “must-have” trends each season and, let’s face it, who can afford half the things the fashion insiders at GQ and Vogue recommend? My advice is don’t get consumed with having the latest Prada shades and Louis Vuitton bags because someone deems them a must. Instead, take heed of the trends, yes, but tweak them to fit your personality. Now that’s style!
