Q&A: Adam Lowry and Eric Ryan,
a.k.a. the Method men

2: Before you were the “people against dirty,” you were just your average dirty people. Which of your former bad habits makes your skin crawl in hindsight?
Method guys: “We lived with seven other guys in what our friends refer to as ‘the dirtiest apartment in San Francisco.’ There were plenty of bad habits to choose from.”

2: If someone is ready to detox their home, where do they start?
Method guys: “Get rid of the toxic crap under your sink. Switch out the bleach, the ammonia and the harsh chemicals for cleaning products that are non-toxic and biodegradable—your lungs will thank you for it. And so will your nostrils: Go for products that use naturally derived ingredients and that actually smell like they are from nature.”

Method guys: “When you have kids, it can be hard to make every decision an environmentally sound one—especially when it comes to diapers. If you’re going disposable, try for ones that are chlorine-free.”

2: So once and for all, paper or plastic?
Method guys: “Neither. A reusable tote.”
