Q: My partner and I have recently become vegan. How can we ensure that we’re getting everything we need from our animal-free diet?

Tonya says...
Regardless of what diet you choose to follow, balance is key. Following a restricted diet limits your options, making it even more imperative to keep a watchful eye on your daily intake of carbohydrates, fats and proteins. Record everything you eat in a journal so that you can easily identify the area(s) in which you are lacking nutrients. For example, if you are low on protein, add more legumes to your daily menu, or try a supplement such as Genuine Health Vegan Proteins+ ($26.99, at health and drugstores).
