You don’t. Trying to win over a spouse to parenthood is a doomed prospect. (And what are you going to do, anyway? Poke her every time you see a cute kid and nod approvingly? Yeah, that’ll work.) Clearly express your desire, and make sure you plainly understand her stance. Most importantly, agree to revisit the issue after, say, a year. Then cool your heels, bucko.
