In a video going viral, a videographer apparently caught this terrifying footage of a golden eagle trying to snatch a young child who was playing with their family in a park. It happened at Mont Royal in Montreal, and though the golden eagle failed -- it did get the child a few feet in the air before dropping it -- the child and family are obviously shaken up.
The French-speaking man filming the clip swears in English and runs over to help the family and the crying child.
The golden eagle must have mistook the child for its common prey, which can include the likes of rabbits, ground squirrels and foxes.
Now many are calling this video a hoax -- read more about it here, and in Gawker's list of all the reasons it's fake -- but to the naked eye boy does it look real.
