The Top 5 Best Movie Moms

Being a mother isn't always easy, especially in movies with crazy plots... Here is a list of the top 5 movie moms who are powerful, inspirational, and simply the best in the biz!

1: Mrs. Gump -- Forrest Gump (1994)

Mrs. Gump is a single mother doing the best she can. She wants the best for her son, Forrest, and she gets him into public school, despite his low IQ. How she got him into that school probably wasn't the best of ways (by having sex with the principal), but at the end of the day she shows she will do anything to have her son live a normal life.

2: Elastigirl -- The Incredibles (2004)

Helen Parr, or Elastigirl, knows how to be a superhero without letting her ego get to her. She can fight crime, keep her children and husband safe in epic battles, and still go home and be a good mom. Her super flexible hugs might be what makes her so loveable.

3: Leigh Anne Touhy -- The Blind Side (2009)

This is a perfect real-life example that the term "family" doesn't only apply to blood relations. Leigh Anne cares unconditionally for Michael Oher, a young homeless boy that she takes in as her own, sticks up for when he gets bullied, and teaches him how to be confident. She helps him overcome racism and shows this kind boy what unconditional love is all about.

4: Christine Collins -- Changeling (2008)

Christine loses her son Walter after leaving for work only to return to him being gone, but she is hopeful that he will be found. Five months after her son disappears, the LAPD claim to have found the boy and return him home; however, Christine knows for a fact this isn't her son. Back in that day, 1928, no woman in their right mind would fight the government and accuse the police of lies, but she doesn't back down. She fights to discover what really happened to her son. She is a tough-cookie, single mother who overcomes so much and sticks up for her right to know the truth.

5: Ellen Griswold -- National Lampoons Vacation (1983)

Ellen has a truly rare type of patience to deal with that crazy Griswold family! Through all those vacations and all those crazy shenanigans, Ellen is always the family's rock, showing forgiveness with ease at every turn. She is the embodies what being a "trooper" is all about.
