There's alot of nastiness that comes out of the internet -- but something happened on forum website Reddit last night that was the exact opposite of trolling.
A user called ProZacDose took to a sub-forum called "Off My Chest", a space for random venting on the site. He poured out a truly Dickensian tale of Christmas sadness -- with mounting debts, injury and family tragedy, it had been a rough year for the father of 4.
"I am supposed to be a father and a provider and I can't even do that. I am dreading Christmas morning, and wish I can just escape all of this," he wrote.
It didn't take long for Christmas elves, in the form of fellow 'redditors' sprang in to action. It started with an offer by one user to pay his water bill, and then another his power bill -- and by the end of the night, he had received over $8000 dollars worth of stranger-generosity.
In fact, he ended up with a surplus of toys for his kids -- which he'll use to keep the Christmas giving going to others in need.
