Most Romantic City: Paris
It’s nearly impossible to not feel the love oozing from every cobblestone and quiet café. It’s not that other cities aren’t romantic, but in Paris, seeing couples canoodling and kissing is as commonplace as patisseries and surly waiters. They smooch whenever and wherever—waiting for the metro or shopping for cheese. And the city is home to Rodin’s most sultry sculpture, The Kiss. If that doesn’t stir you, you may have cement running through your veins.

Best Comeback Destination: Mexico
The country has been a longtime favourite among Canadians. Unfortunately, it was unjustly targeted as a no-go zone at the height of the H1N1 flu crisis, even though the United States actually had more reported cases than Mexico. But thanks to some terrific deals on packages and hotels, the country is bouncing back and offering Canucks great value for our loonie.

Favourite Secluded Vacation Spot: Kauai, Hawaii
If Kauai was a woman, she’d be a combo of Angelina Jolie and Megan Fox: full of curves and luscious landscapes. It’s not as commercial as Oahu or Maui, but you get the best of Hawaii in a pint-size package: pristine beaches (like Poipu, voted “America’s Best Beach” by the Travel Channel), seemingly untouched hiking trails and sites like Wailua Falls, as seen on Fantasy Island. With fairly low airfares from Vancouver to Hawaii, getting to paradise has never been so affordable.

Best Up-and-Coming Budget Destination: Iceland
With the Icelandic economy in the toilet, its currency has been devalued by about 50 percent. What was once wildly expensive has become affordable, from luxe hotels to its infamous nightclub scene. Direct flights in the summer from Halifax make Iceland worth putting on your list for 2010.

Most Hospitable Airline: Porter Airlines
Just when you thought it was time to give up on the idea of flying friendly skies, Porter Airlines came along. It currently services 11 destinations out of the Toronto City Centre Airport. In the lounge, enjoy the free munchies, beverages, newspapers and internet access. Flight attendants actually smile at passengers, serve substantial on-board snacks and pour complimentary wine and beer!

Ultimate Spa for Twosomes: Ancient Cedars Spa, Tofino, B.C.
Sometimes it’s nice to tell the world to go away. Enjoy that feeling when you get a massage or facial in the Cedar Sanctuary, a private cabin perched on a cliff facing the ocean. Setting aside, the therapists and aestheticians are top-notch. If you’re feeling in the mood, contact the elopement coordinator and get hitched on the beach!

Best Restaurant for Popping the Question: Solo per Due, Vacone, Italy
Nervous about a public proposal? Book a table at the world’s smallest restaurant, with just a single table for two. The staff are at your beck and call, and the chef aims to please only you! Located in the village of Vacone, about an hour’s drive from Rome, this eatery dishes out local specialties in an environment that would have made Romeo and Juliet swoon.

City with the Hottest Nightlife: Miami
Steamy weather aside, Miami’s South Beach heats up in the morning and sizzles well into the evening with chic clubs like Opium and B.E.D. (where beds replace tables and chairs), and restaurants like Ola, home of the city’s best mojitos. Warm nights mean clubbers dress in less for maximum impact. This is where the beautiful come to play, but even us plain Joes and Janes can’t help but feel attractive, too, as the beat goes on into the night.
